1) Bob Eagle @ facebook, 2016: "Gayle Dean Wardlow found people who seemed to recall Sam Collins in south MS, and having died in Chicago. Based on that, Sheldon Harris checked out some Chicago death certificates and found one that is the basis of the received info. However the cause of death is inconsistent with the reports Gayle heard. I'm told that Harrison Smith told Pete Whelan he had found Sam in Kentucky."
2) Gayle Dean Wardlow @ facebook, 2/2019: "... I have doubts that the Collins that was listed as dying in Chicago in the late 40s is the correct Collins."Bob Eagle @ facebook, 2/2019: "... I agree that the guy mentioned in Sheldon Harris' book is not the recording artist."

The Country Music discography (Russel 2004) and a Bell records catalog have both sides of Bell 1180 as by the Eva Quartette, so I guess the "Big Boy Woods" entry is just an error on the part of Dixon, Godrich & Rye, 1997 and its predecessors
