Muddy Waters, British skiffle bandleader Chas McDevitt, and Otis Spann, England, 1958 "The Hoss" Muddy's originally white '57 Fender Telecaster has been modified around 1964/65: The body was painted red, amp knobs& four extra pickguard screws were added and the maple neck was replaced with a custom wider neck, with a rosewoodfingerboard, to better accomodate Muddy's large hands From existing photos/footage the changes on that guitar must have been made around 1964/65: He appeared playingthe white Telecaster on TV in England on May 7, 1964, and the modified one on August 14, 1965
